Our first event, on March 24th, is all about the books we love because of their sense of place. Come and join us as we discuss how three very different novels use the power of their location to grab us and hold us.
Sarah Jasmon gives a taster of her choice of a good place-read:

This is one of those books where nothing happens but everything happens. For substantially less than 200 pages, we’re absorbed into a community living – in some cases barely existing – on boats on the Thames. Writing with insider’s knowledge, Fitzgerald captures the floating marginality of boat life along with the inner workings of a disparate group of residents thrown together by chance and circumstance.
Book your ticket here, and watch out for the details of the books chosen by Anna Chilvers and Sarah Butler. Helen Mort will be leading the conversation on the night. The event starts at 19.30, and tickets are free.
