Our first event, on March 24th, is all about the books we love because of their sense of place. Come and join us as we discuss how three very different novels use the power of their location to grab us and hold us.
Anna Chilvers tells us a little about her choice:

Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller is a self-conscious retelling of the story of Rapunzel. Eight-year-old Peggy is taken by her father to live in a remote forest, somewhere in Europe. The two of them live there in “die Hütte” – a wooden cabin – for nine years, Peggy’s dad telling her they are sole survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. The novel uses fairytale motifs and ideas of otherworlds as a way of exploring deprivation and abuse.
Book your ticket here, and watch out for the details of the books chosen by Sarah Butler and Sarah Jasmon. Helen Mort will be leading the conversation on the night. The event starts at 19.30, and tickets are free.
